Are We "Ready" to Forget the Past?
So Rudy is running a political ad on the Islamic terrorism and the lefties are all pissed off about it.
Neal Boortz has a pretty good assessment of the situation:
Rudy Giuliani is running some ads in New Hampshire that include video images from the Islamic attack on America on 9/11. Apparently this is supposed to be a bad thing! We have a capable and well-armed enemy out there, Islamic radicals, who want to destroy us ... and it's a bad thing to feature some of the damage they've already done in a campaign commercial. Yeah, right?
Who would object to this? That's an easy one. The people who don't have the guts to confront this threat, and the courage to respond to it, certainly don't want people to be reminded of the threat we face through a campaign commercial.
Keep running the ads, Rudy. People need reminding.
The point is that are we as a voting nation moving away from the past (in terms of remembering history)? I bet the number of voters that remember the Nixon-Ford-Carter years when stagflation was rampant (due to high taxes and excessive government regulation) is seriously dwindling. We will soon have a time when most voters just think about the George Bush screw ups and not the ones from previous administrations. Oh, how the cycle will begin again.
So if it is remembering 9/11 or if it is remembering the economic disasters of the past, we are doomed to repeats.

This is a war we're in and either we're going to confront it or it will be visited on our country again. I for one will not wear a burka and I'll never allow any females in my family to be thought of and treated as soulless beings.
Many people only want their ears tickled anymore. They don't want to hear anything they consider "upsetting news or something they'd prefer to not really be true."
I have an idea. Every woman that does not want to confront this war were in, go put on a burka and ask your husband to beat you just so you can prepare yourselves for what inaction will bring us. Do you want that for your daughters?
And any homosexuals - go buy a thick hanging rope, for if Sharia law comes here, you will be hung in the open square for all to see. With Sharia law we will be able to say the same thing Irianian pres. said: "We don't have homosexuals," but what he didn't say is BECAUSE THEIR DEAD, AND WHEN MORE ARE FOUND OUT, THEIR DEAD.
who in their right mind honestly believes that america is somehow in danger of being taken over? that we'll all be forced to be muslims? that women will have to wear burkhas?
thats paranoid crazy talk. anyone who seriously thinks that we'll ever be subject to sharia law needs to have their head examined. that's what's being suggested by some-- that a group of terrorists are actually going to invade and dominate the most powerful nation on earth-- a nation of 400 million people that spends 600 billion a year on weapons and their military...
since when are we a country and a people driven by irrational fear?
